Legal Plan:
The University has contracted with MetLife Legal Plans to offer a group legal plan to employees and emeritus retirees. The group legal plan provides access to legal representation or advice for a wide range of legal matters.
MetLife Legal Plans Plus Parents (New) covers you, your spouse, dependents and your parents for
many of the common legal issues your family faces.
Covered legal services include:
- Wills and Estate Planning
- Debt Matters
- Defense of Civil Lawsuits
- Real Estate Matters
- Consumer Protection
- Document Review
- Juvenile Matters
- Family Law
- Document Preparation
- Traffic Matters

To get an up-to-date listing of participating attorneys (including attorneys outside the state of Utah) and covered services, go to www.legalplans.com. If you don’t already have a login, create one – you don’t have to be enrolled to set up an account and see additional details about coverage.
- Initial Enrollment Period – newly eligible employees may enroll during their first 90 days of employment by logging on to the website at metlife.com/mybenefits or by calling 1-800-GET-MET 8.
- Open Enrollment – employees may enroll during the University’s annual open enrollment period by logging on to the website at metlife.com/mybenefits or by calling 1-800-GET-MET 8. Coverage will be effective on the following July 1st.
Enrollment is automatically continued unless you cancel your enrollment during open enrollment (cancellation will be effective June 30).
